Ashesi University’s Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (GCIC) is set to organize National Green Business Roadshows to meet and interact with climate-smart businesses in Ghana’s Western and Ashanti regions. The roadshows will offer an opportunity for the GCIC team to engage with private and public sector institutions, business hubs, and entrepreneurs in each of the regions, whilst also using the roadshow as an opportunity to search and select for the Centre’s future cohorts.
The roadshows are targeted at businesses that have been in operation for at least 3 years, and which have developed entrepreneurial innovations for climate change mitigation or adaptation; or SMEs seeking to transition to a lower carbon pathway by adopting sustainable or ‘green’ models in their business strategies, manufacturing processes, and operations.
Announcing this year’s roadshows, Ruka Sanusi, Executive Director of GCIC said “This year, we are focused on engaging with entrepreneurs in the Western and Ashanti Regions. Our first stop will be in Takoradi where we will meet with businesses in our target group on Thursday, the 7th and Friday 8th of April. The following week, we head to Kumasi to connect with businesses in the Ashanti region on the 12th and 13th of April”, she shared.
As has been done with previous roadshows, GCIC will pay courtesy calls to selected business and institutional leaders in the two regions, and organize a one-day workshop on the Centre’s bouquet of services as well as the advisory, technical and financial services it offers to its cohorts. The workshop will also include an Investor Readiness Masterclass designed to engage businesses on management principles and the fundamentals required for a business to be investor ready.
The GCIC national green business roadshows will interact with around 80 businesses in each region and will take place at the following locations:
- Western Region, 8th April 2022 at Akroma Plaza
- Ashanti Region, 13th April 2022 at Golden Bean
