Pure and Just Co. Ltd (Catalysing Rural African Potential) is headquartered in Ghana’s dynamic capital, Accra and are primarily engaged in food production using climate-smart processes and in farmer support and development. The company employs 9 people, 7 of whom are female and all of whom are under 35. They currently work with 6 farmers in 3 regions of Ghana and are in the process of setting up an organic out-growers scheme with 25 farmers in Ghana’s central region. They also facilitate rural-urban business collaboration, by linking rural farm produce to local and foreign urban retail opportunities via their flagship company, Yvaya Farm Dried Fruit brand, which produces delicious, all-natural, locally produced dried fruit pouches. Our work stimulates economic growth by enhancing an under-developed local value-added agribusiness sector. A Stanford University (CA, USA) graduate, Yvette Tetteh (the CEO), brings analytical thinking and academic rigor to team leadership and business development through sales and investment securement. Within 5 years, she has raised over US$25k in various personal and business awards and grants. Born and raised internationally, Yvette moved to her native Ghana in 2015. Emmanuel Ampadu (the COO) is a multi-lingual entrepreneur. An Ashesi alumni, he started a foundation while at the university to teach good agricultural and organic practices to farmers in Berekuso – as well as starting a dried pineapple company. After graduating he brought his technical and social experience to his role with Pure and Just, managing operations and farmer liaisons.
